METALLO 2007

Important changes are taking place in the metals sector today. The industry continues to consolidate there is more integration along the value chain, cross regional alliances are more common and leading steelmakers continue acquire coal and iron ore mines in an effort to control their raw materials costs.
Metals and alloys constitute an important area of engineering materials, which play a dominant role in the Indian and world economy. In the present global scenario, metals and alloys will play an even more crucial role in various advanced engineering applications. Therefore, it is anticipated that the demand for stringent requirement for new metallic alloys will increase in the future. The international conference to be held at IIT Kanpur between December 07-10 2007 and will focus on the theme of the past, present and future of metals and alloys and their applications in diverse engineering fields.
