Baosteel produces stainless steel or quake relief work

Baosteel Special Steel finished its second batch of 21.5 tonne production of medical stainless steel on June 30th that will be used in quake relief work and sent to relevant medical apparatus plants.

Up to now, the company has accumulatively provided 33 tonnes of medical stainless steel.

The demand for medical stainless steel such as fixed bracket, clamp and connector rose dramatically after great Wenchuan earthquake. As the leading domestic medical stainless steel producer, Baosteel Special Steel decided to make efforts to organize the production for quake hit areas.

The production technology of this kind of stainless steel is demanding and the urgent contract involves eight specifications with highly difficult production and logistic organization. While the company rose above all difficulties and complete the task with only two days.
