US DOC postpones antidumping decision on innersprings
It is reported that US Department of Commerce has postponed a final determination in its antidumping investigation of uncovered innerspring units for mattresses from China till December 19th 2008. A preliminary determination had been made August 6th 2008 and a final determination had been originally due by October 13th 2008.
DOC said that on August 12th 2008 that two companies under investigation, Nanhai Animal By Products Import & Export Co Limited and Foshan Jingxin Steel Wire & Spring Co Limited, requested a 60 day extension of the final determination and extension of the provisional measures.
Since DOC’s preliminary ruling on dumping was affirmative, and the respondents requesting an extension of the final determination and an extension of the provisional measures account for a significant proportion of exports of the subject merchandise, and there being no compelling reasons for denial of the requests, DOC extended the due date for a final ruling.
