Fars News Agency reported that it was in late August 2008 that Chahar Mahal Va Bakhtiary Automotive Sheet Company which produces galvanized sheet for the automotive industry announced to start up a new plant in Chaharmahal Bakhtiyari province in December 2008.
Mr Ahmad Ali Harati Nik MD of the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization, which oversees the Iranian steel sector, has now said that as much as 80% of the construction work at the plant has been completed so far.
On completion, the plant will have production capacity of 300,000 tonnes a year, including cold rolling and hot dip galvanizing facilities. The plant will receive coil from Iran's Mobarakeh Steel Company which is located near Isfahan.
