Project today reported that Himachal Pradesh government has given its nod to Dutch firm Brakel Corp NV to start work on the Thopan-Powari-Jangi hydropower project in Kannur district of Himachal Pradesh awarded to it in 2006.
As per report, it is likely to sign the pre implementation agreement with the Himachal Pradesh government soon to begin the construction on the project.
The project was awarded to Brakel December 1st 2006, by the previous Congress government through open international bidding. The state cabinet had previously accused the company of financial and technical incompetence and therefore the company was served show cause notice.
