
Bloomberg cited Germany’s Colexon Energy AG as saying that Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company is investing USD 600 million in 2 factories as part of a venture to sell thin film modules.
Colexon Energy AGsaid in a statement that the partnership guarantees delivery of modules with a peak capacity of more than 150MW until 2013.
Mr Thorsten Preugschas CEO of Colexon said that “We are absolutely booked out until the middle of next year.”
Masdar PV GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Future Energy, will build and operate a 70MW plant in Erfurt, Germany and one twice that size in Abu Dhabi. The German plant is expected to begin production in the third quarter of 2009 and will cost USD 230 million.
