Reuters reported that Riyadh Cement Company has awarded a contract to China's Sinoma International Engineering Company, a subsidiary of China National Materials Company, to double its cement production capacity by the end of 2009.
German industrial group ThyssenKrupp and Finnish engineering group Wartsila have also won parts of the first contract.
To effectively implement the contract, Sinoma will add a second line to raise Riyadh Cement's annual cement production capacity to 4 million tonnes. Sinoma has also built the Saudi firm's existing production line. Financial details of the deal were not revealed.
