Bombardier wins contract worth EUR 10 million from Arriva

Bombardier Transportation announced that it has received an order from Arriva Deutschland GmbH to supply 7 double deck coaches to be operated by Regentalbahn AG. The order is worth approximately EUR 10 million.

Regentalbahn AG is the first private German operator to order double deck coaches from Bombardier Transportation. The Arriva Länderbahn Express operates an overall 600 kilometer long network ranging from Hof via Munich to Lindau.

The modern double deck coaches are equipped with low floor entrances and multi purpose compartments. The intermediate coaches will reinforce the existing fleet of coaches to meet the increasing number of passengers. The coaches will be used in the Arriva Länderbahn Express network, which serves the Munich Regensburg Hof route.

The vehicles will be manufactured at the Bombardier site in Görlitz, which already has supplied more than 2,000 double deck coaches of a comparable design. The coaches’ delivery and start of operation for Regentalbahn AG are planned for the second half of 2009.
