Baosteel consecutively wins the advanced unit on standardized operation

Baosteel Co Ltd has been awarded as Shanghai Municipal Advanced Unit on Standardized Operation in 2008 which is the third consecutive year for Baosteel to win this title since 2006.

Long ever since, Baosteel Co Ltd. has given priority to standardized operation as a key program to forge brand reputation. Last year, with the joint collaboration from relevant departments, Baosteel Technology & Quality department conducted the overall correction of corporate standard. Optimized consolidation and edition were made while benign effect was obtained. At present, all carbon steel standards as cold rolled hot rolled, heavy plate and tubing, etc have been examined and approved, part of which have already been issued and implemented. Moreover, the standards on stainless steel and specialty steel have been drafted and will be examined soon.

2008 is the busiest year since Baosteel Co Ltd has engaged National Standardized operation. 53 national standards and 3 sectoral standards have been formulated and edited, while nearly 170 national and sectoral standards have been approved and fed back in that year. Both the quantity and scope have reached the record high. Baosteel has involved in the formulation and examination of such key files as Shanghai Municipal Advanced Standardized Action in Manufacturing Sector Shanghai Municipal 3 year Standardized Action in Environmental Protection, Assessment and Management Measures on Standardized Achievement Awards, etc, making due contributions to the development of municipal standardized operation and was highly appraised and recognized by Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision.

Last year, remarkable effect was achieved in Baosteel standardized operation, among which GB/T 12754 Color Coated Plate and Strip and GB/T 13448 Color Coated Plate and Strip Testing won the National Standard Innovative Contributor. Outstanding accomplishments are made in standardized operation at both home and abroad.
