JNPT to holds meeting on pre bidding

The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust request for qualification document towards developing a fourth container terminal on build, operate and transfer basis, held a pre application conference in this regard on April 15th 2009 at the World Trade Centre.

The conference was attended by 24 national and international parties and close to 40 delegates. Chaired by Mr SS Hussain chairman of JNPT and Ms Maya Sinha deputy chairperson, the event also saw the participation of Mr SK Kaul chief manager, administration and secretary and other heads of department, besides Axis Bank, the advisor.

Clarifications on the project sought by the applicants were answered at the interaction by the Chairman and Deputy Chairperson.

The Port expects good response to the RFQ.

As per report the fourth container terminal will be developed in two phases and the planned capacity of each phase is 2.4 million TEUs per annum. The anticipated investment of the project is INR 6,700 crore.
