Sunday, 24 May 2009

The largest Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant has announced the re commissioning of its melting furnace No 7 which has been idled for more than half of the year.

In addition, at the end of May NZF also plans to restart operations at its furnace No 8 which together with its furnace No 7 will melt silicomanganese. The decision to resume production at additional facilities is due to the receipt by the plant of orders for June.

As SteelOrbis previously, on April 20th this year NZF restarted operations at its melting furnace No 1. Thus, by the end of May nine melting units will be in operation at NZF. In December 2008, three melting furnaces were operating at NZF, while six were in operation in February 2009.
