25 companies bid to supply transformers to MVVNL

Projects Today reported that around 25 companies including Technical Associates (Lucknow), East India Udyog (Ghaziabad), Kotsons (Agra), Vijay Electricals (Hyderabad), Raychem RPG (Mumbai), PP Industries (Punjab) and Marsons (Kolkata) have submitted technical bids for supplying 50,000 transformers to Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam. MVVNL is a subsidiary of the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation.

As per report, with each transformer costing INR 5,000, the total cost for the order of 50,000 transformers stands at INR 250 crore. The technical bids will be first evaluated and then the financial bids of the qualifying companies be opened in first week on June 2009.
