It is reported that Schmolz & Bickenbach and Acerinox have decided to lift the base price of austenitic and ferritic stainless steel by EUR 100 per tonne.
Market participants said that the customers would probably accept more expensive flat products, but they would not accept the increased price for long products.
Outokumpu claimed that it would lift the base price gradually in the second quarter rather than lifting the price immediately.
