Benxi Steel becomes largest steel supplier of Beijing Hyundai

It is reported that Benxi Steel has been the largest steel products supplier for Beijing Hyundai Motor Co Ltd.

At present, the mill has eyed its branded-products totally cover the production lines of the auto maker, and realized big batch delivery, implying the mill’s premiere among auto makers in high-end and middle markets.

Beijing Hyundai, the JV founded on April 29th 2002 by Beijing Automotive Industry Corp and Hyundai Motor Co has grown into one of main forces in China’s auto sector with capacity up to 600,000 units.

Before the contract with Benxi Steel in 2007, the auto maker kept importing all materials from Korea, but at high costs. After Benxi Steel’s products passed the check, the steelmaker became the official supplier since February 2008.

The businesses between the two are gradually widened, and expect to reach a new level this year, sales department of Benxi Steel predicts, as its O5 auto plate is ready for the examinations at the heels of the SPCC and SPCD which already won the certifications of Hyundai Motor.
