Tokyo Steel raises scrap purchase prices by JPY 1,000 a tonne

It is reported that Tokyo Steel Mfg Co has increased what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap by a uniform JPY 1,000 per tonne for all grades at its four works, effective with June 17th 2009 purchases.

As a result, the new delivered prices of number 2 HMS are JPY 24,000 per tonne for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Okayama works, JPY 24,000per tonne for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Kyushu works, JPY 23,500 per tonne for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Takamatsu works and JPY 24,500 per tonne for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works.
