PTI reported that Hinduja Group firm Ashok Leyland construction of its proposed facility to make light commercial vehicles in partnership with Japan's Nissan had been deferred due to sluggish market conditions.
However, it said that LCVs under the joint venture would still be made, but initially would be launched from the partners own facilities.
Mr K Sridharan CFO of Ashok Leyland said “The construction of the plant has been deferred, but not shelved. We are discussing options with our JV partner Nissan, keeping in mind the current market scenario.”
