Taiwanese billet prices increased to TWD 14,500 a tonne
Monday, 29 Jun 2009

It is reported that Taiwan's domestic billet price has increased to TWD 14,500 per tonne and the export billet price to Southeast Asia even hikes to USD 450 to USD 460 per tonne due to the rising scrap price.

The global scrap price has increased continuously, now the scrap price for container from the US is quoted at USD 290 per tonne CNF and the actual sales price is around USD 280 per tonne.

Although the domestic billet price has risen to TWD 14,500 per tonne, the price cannot be acceptable for buyers. However, a stable demand will somehow support the price to soar again.
