Vietnamese construction steel prices up by up to 30pct
Monday, 29 Jun 2009

It is reported that all construction steel prices at least increased by 20% to 30% in Vietnamese market because some infrastructures have resumed normal operation.

According to the Vietnam Steel Association, the domestic construction steel sales volume of the first 5 months of 2009 was 1.5 million tonnes, up by 1.2% YoY. The current wire rod price is VND 10.64 million per tonne, up by VND 100,000 to VND 200,000 per tonne last month.

Besides, VSA stated that if the domestic steel prices continue to soar, it will benefit the overseas steelmakers. The domestic steel price is expected to remain stable in June, but the steel sales will lessen in the rain season.
