Reuters reported that Toronto City Council has approved a motion to cover a funding gap in its CAD 1.2 billion deal to buy streetcars from Bombardier Inc.
The Canadian government said that the project did not qualify for funding from its infrastructure stimulus fund, a decision that had left about a third of the financing in question.
