BNamericas reported that Argentine power holding company Pampa Energía will invest USD 248 million to convert its Loma de la Lata thermo plant in Neuquén province to combined cycle operations. It had previously said that it expected to invest USD 205 million to add 178 MW of new capacity to the complex through the conversion.
Pampa executives detailed the expansion plans to Argentine President Ms Cristina Fernández during a meeting held at the Casa Rosada presidential palace in Buenos Aires.
Pampa has already started works for the expansion and aims to complete the process by third quarter next yea. When converted to combined cycle operations, Loma de la Lata's installed capacity will reach 533 MW.
