Dow Jones reported that Brazilian steel company, Companhia Siderurgica Nacional reported a temporary malfunction in the No. 3 furnace of its steel mill in Volta Redonda in Rio de Janeiro State.
In a statement, CSN said due to excess pressure in the furnace, pressure valves were opened for just over two minutes.
CSN said that production was not affected.
