IANS reported that Maruti Suzuki has reported a 22.6% surge in its sales in June, compared to the same month a year ago.
Maruti Suzuki said in a statement said it sold 75,109 units including export of 13,336 units, this June as compared to 61,247 in the same month last year. This is also Maruti's highest ever monthly export volume with overseas sales increasing more than 175%.
Maruti's sales in the compact car (A2) segment comprising Alto, Wagon-R, Zen, Swift, Ritz and A-Star grew 22.2%. It sold 46,156 units in this segment as against 37,767 units sold in June 2008.
The mid-sized (A3) segment comprising SX4 and D'zire grew 5% but that of the C segment - Omni and Versa fell 1.1%.
