CBH Resources signs new 30 year lease for NSC
Saturday, 04 Jul 2009

CBH Resources said that its subsidiary Carrington Facilities, along with Newcastle Port Corporation, have agreed to a new 30 year lease for the Newcastle Concentrates Shiploader.

The Newcastle Concentrates Shiploader is centrally located at Carrington in the Port of Newcastle and comprises rail receivable, unloading equipment, undercover storage, retrieval and shiploading systems.

The Shiploader's services are available to all mines requiring export services and it currently provides the export portal for the CSA Mine, Peak Mine, Tritton Mine and CBH’s Endeavor Mine.

The Newcastle Concentrates Shiploader handles approximately 380,000 tonnes of mineral concentrates per year over Dyke Berth No 2. It is linked to the NSW rail network, and has the potential to expand its capacity.

According to CBH, the new lease modernizes the original lease, removing restrictions on bulk materials which can be handled by the shiploader. The loader can now be used for imports as well as exports of a variety of bulk products, including coal
