Reuters cited Mr Shriprakash Jaiswal minister of coal as saying that the Indian government has no plans to sell stakes in Neyveli Lignite as of now.
However, the previous government had proposed a stake sale in Neyveli a few years ago, but met with stiff opposition from some of its allies and shelved the plan.
Mr Jaiswal said he sees no objection from trade unions on the proposed stake sale in CIL.
