
Projects Today reported that the Orissa Government proposes to acquire 6,177.81 acre spread over 18 villages in Puri district for the proposed Vedanta University.
The land included 5,485.79 acre of private land and 692.02 acre of government land. These lands spread over 18 villages includes Nalihanda, Nakhisahi, Aalang, Bhaitana, Phanaphana, Sirihana, Ura, Batali Bhuyan, Dohitakhanda, Rahangiria, Bhimpur, Thoraba, Gaindal, Kanasila, Aludanga, Beladala, Samagangara and Nilakanthapada.
However, out of the total 6,177.81 acre 3,777.10 acre including 509.27 acre of government land had been handed over to the Anil Agarwal Foundation for the university.
