It is reported that east China Anhui province is to strengthen the regulating and eliminating work on non coal mines due to rising accidents this year.
Mr Zhu Feng deputy director general of Anhui Administration of Work Safety said those still unqualified after rectification would be definitely closed. While those capable for resources consolidation or capacity expansion through technical innovation, should submit their proposals to related government bodies for approval.
By the end of June, the province has shut down 9 underground mines, 55 open pit mines and 11 tailings. And Mr Zhu said local government is aiming to close 30 metals and non metals underground mines, 100 open pit mines and 20 tailings by the end of this year.
