Aramco and Royal Dutch Shell to shut their Jubail refinery JV

Reuters reported that Saudi Aramco and Royal Dutch Shell plan to shut their JV Jubail refinery in March 2011 for a week.

The source said that “The whole refinery will be shut in March 2011 for 7 days as the utility will be down.” He said that in 2010, a thermal gas unit, a breaker and another sulphur unit will be closed.

He added that a sulphur recovery unit will also be shut for maintenance in October for about three weeks. The 305,000 barrel per day refinery can export as much as 60,000 tonnes of oil products per day, mainly fuel oil, naphtha, gas oil and jet.
