TATA Steel invites Greenpeace activists for talks on Dhamra Port

TATA Steel which is developing a port along with Larsen& Toubro at Dhamra in Orissa, today invited Greenpeace activists voicing concerns on the future of turtles that breed near the port site for a discussion.

Mr Ratan Tata Chairman of TATA Steel "I invite you for a discussion and a visit to the port site in Dhamra.”

A number of Greenpeace activists were present at the venue of the company’s AGM at Birla Matushree Sobhaghar. They were inside the auditorium on account of being shareholders of TATA Steel.

TATA assured them that the Group would do nothing that would have a negative impact on nature and environment.

TATA Steel and Larsen & Toubro hold equal stakes in the Dhamra port project, which is being developed on a build own operate share and transfer basis.
