According to Department of Land Resources of Anhui Province, over three years' effort, Anhui province has successfully shut down 643 small mines by means of integrating mineral resources. Its iron ore production has jumped 54%.
Since the beginning of 2006, Anhui province has ruled coal, iron, copper, limestone and calcite as the most important mineral sources of the province. Among the 68 mineral resource integrating projects ruled by the provincial government, 65 have been finished so far.
51 projects have now gone into production, pushing the production of iron ore up to 107.98 million tonnes from less than 70 million tonnes by 54%. The output value of the mineral industry has gone up to CNY 6.88 billion from CNY 4 billion by 72% and profit and tax have risen to CNY 1.12 billion from CNY 400 million by 181%.
