Jiangsu Province update on obsolete capacity closure

National Business Daily reported that China’s steel industry is eyeing stricter rectifications across the country, in speedy compliance to Beijing’s requests to curb overcapacity and redundant constructions lately.

According to a survey at Liyang and Gaoyou city in East China Jiangsu province However, the campaign has not been faring well though it also achieved some progress. According to the survey, Liyang city mandated the closure of local Ruifeng Smelting Co Ltd and Sanwei Casting Co Ltd who uses outdated production equipments before the end of this year.

Gaoyou city ordered local Xingxin Mould Factory and Kaixin Metal & Machinery Co Ltd to close small iron-smelting furnaces. And Xuzhou city commanded local Borui Special Steel Co Ltd, Bofeng Iron & Steel Co Ltd and Chengri Iron & Steel Co Ltd to halt production before their environmental examination procedures were repaired.
