It is reported that Taiwan's Yieh United Steel Corporation is planning to produce carbon steel hot rolled coil. It has pointed out that since there are around 8,000 tonnes of carbon steel slabs available for production if the buyers can accepted the prices, the company will likely produce HRC.
Meanwhile there is insufficient stainless steel slab due to water shortages. Some of downstream operations have experienced difficulties in making orders due to China Steel Corporation retaining its high HRC prices in the market.
YUSCO is trying to see whether the timing is good for its efforts to obtain greater market share by producing carbon steel products.
