It is reported that China National Oil Offshore Corporation one of the country's three largest oil and gas producers, recently showed its intent to strengthen the oil and gas exploitation cooperation with Ghana National Petroleum Corporation.

The Chinese oil titan promises to give a stronger financial and technological support to the Ghananian oil titan, and will play an important role in the gradual formation of the oil and gas industry of Ghana as expected.

A senior delegation of CNOOC reported the decision to the Ghananian President Mr John Evans Atta Mills at the Osu Castle in Accra on September 20th that the company would assist Ghana especially in the energy field.

Mr Fu Chengyu president of CNOOC told the Ghananian President that Ghana owned huge economic potentials and rich oil and gas resources and that China planned to assist Ghana in developing them. Mr Fu believed that CNOOC can grow Ghana into an important energy center.
