Fives Stein to supply continuous annealing line to Xinyu Steel

Fives Stein signed a contract with Xinyu Steel for the engineering, key equipment, assembly supervision and commissioning of a vertical furnace for a new continuous carbon steel strip annealing line with a capacity of 750,000 tonnes per year.

Out of the 11 continuous annealing lines built since 2005, nine are equipped with vertical furnaces with Fives Stein digital technology.

China’s Xinyu Steel is an integrated steel plant with an annual capacity of 4 million tonnes. In the past four years, Xinyu Steel has extended its production to flat products through the acquisition of a hot rolling mill that started operations in 2008, a cold rolling mill currently being commissioned and now the continuous strip annealing line.
