Baotou Steel secures LRS certification for steel plates

It is reported that Lloyd’s Register lately sent chief assessors to Baotou Steel to carry through a three day check on Baotou Steel-made S235, S275 and S355 50mm to 100mmm HR wide & heavy plates.

Baotou Steel is reported to pass the check successfully which indicates that the mills’ 50mm to 100mm HR plates win the permit and are entitled to be exported to EU.

According to the law by EU, the HR strips and plates should pass the CR-CPD certification first, and then are permitted to be exported to the member countries in EU.

As per report, Baotou Steel passed the CE certification on December 2006 for its S235, S275 and S355 20mm HR strips and got the certification on September 2008 for its 6mm to 50mm HR plates.
