It is reported that Hebei Province saw its five key construction projects including Hubei Inter city Railway the 3rd phase of Tianhe Airport and Xinglong Hydropower Station sign framework agreements on October 16th with Wuhan Steel, the largest steelmaker in Hebei and gave priority to Wuhan Steel-made steel products.
On October 15th the provincial Development & Reform Commission held a meeting for the direct link of local steel users and Wuhan Steel, helping the steelmaker to promote its products to local key projects.
As introduced, Hubei has 148 key projects under building with planed investment up to CNY 136.2 billion expected to generate 2.65 million tonnes of demand in construction steel, section steel and plates.
Wuhan Steel has signed over 5 million tonnes of steel supply contract with local steel consumers so far and actually delivered 4.8083 million tonnes to those users. The Development & Reform Commission noted to urge local key steel users to apply Wuhan Steel products to meet their over 80% demand and enlarge the inner province steel consumption of Wuhan Steel’s products to 9m tons this year.
