It is reported that the LOTOS Kolej, transport subsidiary of oil and gas group LOTOS, has signed a EUR 18.6 million order for six Bombardier Transportation diesel electric freight locomotives on October 14th 2009.
The 2,400 kW Traxx locomotives will be built at Kassel using body shells from Wroclaw and bogies from Siegen. Deliveries start in mid 2011 and the contract includes an option for a further four.
LOTOS Kolej currently operates around 65 trains a day, and has recently obtained certification allowed it to operate a Voith Maxima 40CC locomotive in Poland.
