Csteelnews reported that Shagang, China largest private steelmaker ignited its newly built 5800 cubic meters furnace on October 21st and officially put it into production increasing 5 million tonnes per year iron smelting capacity.
The furnace is to provide molten iron for its new 3 million tonnes per year HR line and 2 million tonnes per year wide & heavy plate line, which only produced a very limited output at the very start of production.
According to Shagang, the new production lines will spend 2 to 3 months in fulfilling the designed capacity.
Mr Shen Wenrong chairman of Shagang noted days ago that the mill had no plan of output cut this year and would remain the crude steel output at 14 million tonnes to 15 million tonnes.
