According to the data released by the Republic of Kazakhstan Agency of Statistics, in January to September 2009 the country registered a crude steel production down by 15.2%YoY to 2.99 million and flat rolled steel production down by 3.3%YoY 2.27 million tonnes.
During the first nine months of 2009, Kazakhstan output of ferroalloys declined by 20.8%YoY to 1.03 million tonnes. Meanwhile, during the period in question Kazakhstan exported 579,600 tonnes of ferroalloys down by 34% YoY for a value of USD 628.8 million down by 67.4% YoY and 1.7 million tonnes of flat rolled steel, including tinplate down by 11% YoY for a value of USD 831.2 million down by 49.7%YoY.
