Steel Guru : Baosteel strives to build up engineering technology industry

Recently Baosteel held the general meeting to mobilize the pioneering of engineering technology industry, symbolizing that the bugle call for second pioneering has been blown for Baosteel's engineering technology industry.

Mr Xu Lejiang chairman of the Group Corporation called on in the meeting that the engineering technology industry should persist in the interactive development with steel and its related industries to speed up the second pioneering. He wished that the employees of this industry could greet the difficulties and challenges with enthusiasm, strive to build a world class group for engineering technology and make it into the second pillar industry of Baosteel.

Mr Xu Lejiang pointed out in the meeting that it is just the right time for the engineering technology industry to set sail for long voyage on the basis of more than 30 years' development of Baosteel's development and it is also the need for the strategic development of Baosteel to do so.

He said that “The whole sector must align itself with the market, struggle strenuously in the market at home and abroad, undertake the trials and enhance the competitiveness. The consolidation of the sector shall put emphasis on high efficiency and synergy, advance solidly and explore actively the development mode and operating mechanism, enhance the cohesive and centripetal force for the common development of employees and enterprise. The staff of engineering technology should undertake the important task of second pioneering, and build engineering technology industry into the second pillar industry of Baosteel, to support the development the steel industry of Baosteel.”

Mr Zhao Zhouli Chairman of Engineering Technology Committee of the Group Corporation and vice president of Baosteel Co Ltd made a report titled "Persisting in the interactive development and speed up second pioneering". His report elaborated on the three aspects, i.e. it is the inevitable choice for Baosteel second pioneering to develop engineering technology industry, Baosteel's core advantages for the interactive development of engineering technology, and the prospect, target system and business developing direction of Baosteel engineering technology group.
