Russian stainless steel import in September up by 71pct MoM

It is reported that Russia's stainless steel import reached 10800 tonnes in September 2009, up by 71% MoM as compared with August 2009. It is the highest stainless steel import record in 2009.
Russian analysts indicate the stainless steel market in Russia is good on track due to soaring quantity on the import of stainless steel. However, it will be a long time to recover as the similar bloom of market before.
Russia stainless steel imported 70,800 tonnes from January to September 2009 period. Among them, the import of flat products has biggest drop by 53.6%, followed by wire, seamless pipe, long product, welded pipe and square billet.
