Strike may hit iron ore supply to Indian steel mills

BL reported that according to a statement issued by the Steel Workers’ Federation of India the production in public sector steel plants may be hit in the next few days due to poor availability of iron ore.
As per report, the loading of iron ore in many mines supplying to PSU steel plants was affected for two days following a strike by workers at both mines and plants, demanding pay revision.
According to the statement, iron ore raising was badly hit in several mines located at Kiriburu, Bolani, Kalta and Roxy. Gua was already hit by a major breakdown. Production, however, was on at Dalli Rajhara mine supplying ore to Bhilai Steel Plant.
