Tuesday, 03 Nov 2009

Yonhap reported that POSCO announced that it has built a plant in the United States that produces pipes used by the American Petroleum Institute for oil transportation.

The plant in Pittsburgh will produce 270,000 tonnes of high quality pipes annually. The plant will produce pipes whose diameters range from 24 inches to 64 inches.

POSCO has a 35% stake in the plant, named United Spiral Pipe LLC, while United States Steel Corp holds an equal interest. The two companies will supply hot rolled steel to the plant for processing.
