CII and steel ministry Steel Summit in New Delhi today

There have been almost revolutionary changes in the global steel scene with fierce competitive pressures on performance, productivity, price reduction and customer satisfaction. National boundaries have melted to encompass an ever increasing world market.

The Indian steel industry comprises of producers of finished steel, semi finished steel, stainless steel and pig iron. Indian steel industry, having participation from both public sector and private sector enterprises, is one of the fastest growing markets for steel and is also increasingly looking towards domestic markets and exports for driving the growth of the industry.

It is with this backdrop, the Confederation of Indian Industry jointly with the Ministry of Steel and in Association with ITW India Limited is organizing the Steel Summit 2009 on 04 November 2009 at Hotel Le Meridien in New Delhi.

Mr Virbhadra Singh minister of steel government of India has consented to be the Chief Guest for this Summit.

This day long summit will discuss and deliberate on topics like improving industry efficiency, productivity, future growth, environmental issues, long term sustainability, etc.
