
Steel Orbis reported that Bursa based Turkish steelmaker Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret AS announced its operational and financial results for the Q3 and for January to September 2009.
Accordingly, in the Q3 of the current year, Cemtas' unaudited sales revenue totaled TRL 25.95 million decreasing by 57.53% while its profit amounted to TRL 1.28 million declining by 79.38% both compared to the Q3 of 2008.
Meanwhile, in January to September 2009, the company's unaudited sales revenue decreased by 55.75% YoY reaching TRL 70.31 million while its profit amounted to TRL 899,027 plummeting by 96% compared to January to September 2008.
In January to September 2009, Cemtas' steel billet output totaled 60,873 tonnes decreasing by 44% YoY while it’s rolled steel output declined by 48% compared to January to September of 2008 amounting to 53,765 tonnes.
Heavily affected by the negative situation in the domestic and international automotive industry as a special steel producer in January to September of 2009 Cemtas's total sales amounted to 54,164 tonnes including sales of 24,085 tonnes to the domestic market down 47% and sales of 30,079 tonnes to the export markets down 46% both compared to January to September 2008.
