400 kinds of steel products will enter into Taiwan after signing ECFA

It is reported that, after signing the ECFA with China in 2010, Taiwan will allow 400 kinds of steel products entry into Taiwan, which could make great impact on local suppliers.
The benefit for Taiwan steel supplier is that Taiwanese steel product can be more competitive in price due to lower tariff.
On the other hand, Taiwan's market will rely more on China’s market due to cost effectiveness, especially in regard to rebar and construction steel.
Without any limitation on importing these steel products, Taiwan’s rebar makers may not be able to compete in the local market in the future.
