Rusbiz News reported that Japan's largest maker of aluminum and plastic packaging, Daiwa Can Company Limited may build a plant in the Sverdlovsk Oblast.
Mr Hirohisa Yamaguchi ED of Daiwa Can has conducted negotiations with the regional government. The Japanese company is considering several Russian regions for the construction of an aluminum packaging plant. The Sverdlovsk Oblast authorities have suggested the use of the JSC Ural Foil site. The nominal capacity of the plant is 44,000 tonnes of aluminum foil, 10,000 tonnes of aluminum strip and 16,000 tonnes of zinc rolled metal.
The regional government informed that JSC Uralchimplast has also demonstrated interest in cooperation with Daiwa Can Company Limited. The Urals manufacturer of synthetic resins is prepared to set up the production of food safe lacquers for aluminum cans.
Daiwa Can Company Limited includes 8 plants, 2 research facilities and a number of sales offices in all large Japanese cities. Coca Cola Group, Asahi Breweries Group, Kirin Group, Nestle Japan Limited are the key customers of the company.
