Bijans International to set up a branch in Kuwait
Thursday, 05 Nov 2009

The Peninsula reported that Bijans International Trading Company WLL which mainly deals in Malaysia made steel tanks for storing water to be used in firefighting is to set up a branch in Kuwait.

Mr B Mathew GM of Bijans International Trading said that the firm is in the final stages of opening a branch in Kuwait.

The official said that ‘Rendering quality with value’ is our motto, thanking the Civil Defence Department and the firm’s customers for providing support.

Mr Mathew said that “Qatar is in the forefront of the Civil Defence scene and the government here is very conscious about safety and implementing fire safety regulations.”

He said that the steel tanks made by Malaysia based Steelworks Engineering are superior to traditionally used concrete tanks which can develop cracks over time and are not as fire tolerant. Steel melts at 1000 degrees Celsius and so these tanks can withstand very high temperatures rendering them quite useful for large buildings.

He added that Bijans has installed steel tanks in the Lagoona Qatar and believes more and more offshore businesses should set shop in the country so that better products become available. It also deals in smoke ventilation system of Powermatic, a UK based company. The firm also supplies fire dampers used to cut off or isolate an area which is on fire so that toxic fumes do not spread to the adjoining areas. Talks are on with the Qatar government to set up a plant of Steelworks Engineering in Doha.
