POSCO starts work on steel processing plant in Turkey

Korea Herald quoted POSCO as saying that it began construction of a plant in Turkey that will process steel used for automobiles.

It said that the plant, when completed by June 2010 will have an annual production capacity of 170,000 tonnes of automotive steel.

POSCO has set up steel processing plants in Japan, China, India, Malaysia and Mexico.

The steelmaker currently operates 41 steel processing centers in 12 countries.
