Special package for tracking global long product steel prices
Sunday, 08 Nov 2009

The global Steel industry has been through a turbulent phase since July 2008 as the recessionary pandemic became widespread. The happenings have affected all

quarters of the economy and industry.

The international prices movements has been devoid of certainty being dependant on transitory factors stock depletion and pruned production rather than

demand which eludes the market. The prices have shown swings from the heights of USD 1220 per tonne in June 2008 to the depths of USD 280 per tonne March

2009 for billets FOB Black Sea Port. Subsequently price has rallied to attain semblance of stability as the stocks depleted and mills were operating at

truncated capacity leading to demand resurrection in the short term.

These tumultuous happenings spurred us to launch a special package on our portal www.steelprices-global.com to aid operators in the flat products industry

with a handy and incisive information from a cross section of vital markets viz., CIS (Black Sea Port) , China, Middle East, Europe and India for not only

keeping a tab on market but take a commercially prudent decision.
