Dongbu Steel launches 3 million tonne EAF steel plant

South Korea's fourth largest steelmaker Dongbu Steel Co announced that it has completed building an electric arc furnace project.
The new furnace in Dangjin has an annual production capacity of 3 million tonnes.
Company officials said the new furnace's capacity is the world's biggest. Before Dongbu's furnace, US based Nucor had the world's largest electric arc furnace with an annual production capacity of 2.5 million tonnes.
